Have you ever walked into your local liquor store and wondered, without reading the labels of each and every bottle there, which is the strongest alcohol they sell? Which would let you get the most bang for your buck? Which to slip into your dates drink to ‘loosen her up?’ (By the way, don’t do that.)
If you grew up American, like me, then your typical idea of “Tropical Fruit” was bananas and the occasional kiwi. When I was a kid, pineapples were something you rarely saw in a grocery store and mangos were something mentioned in movies or songs and I just assumed they didn’t exist for real and I just assumed Sesame Street and Don Ho were lying to me. The internet has effectively erased the borders when it comes to things like a country’s native foods, and the global distribution of goods has brought the weird to our neighborhood food dispensaries. Here are 10 bizarre fruits that people actually eat, that we otherwise never would have heard of.
If you are a parent, you have most likely smiled more than once while thinking about how your child views the world. I think it's safe to say that kids look at things a lot differently than us grown-ups. Jeff Wysaski knows all about how kids view things differently than adults. His adult vs. kid comparisons on Pleated Jeans really made me laugh. The difference is remarkable but I think it is quite true. It's amazing how seeing pictures like this can bring back so many memories.
Inventing a language from scratch might seem like an odd way to spend your time, but there are good reasons to do it. People create languages for scientific, cultural and artistic purposes: to test theories about how the brain works, to help people communicate, to ‘improve’ existing languages, or because they just need a new language for a book they’re writing. Here are some of the best examples of invented languages:
Developed by Francois Sudre in the first half of the nineteenth century, Solresol is an example of an international auxiliary language: a planned, deliberately simplified language created in order to make worldwide communication easier. Solresol was the first such language to gain any recognition, but what really made it unique is its musical basis: it contains a total of only seven syllables, made up of the names of the musical scale (do re mi fa so la si).
This arrangement meant that words could be written in musical notation, and that the language could be communicated by singing. Syllables could be expressed in seven colors and easily ‘read’ by the illiterate. Unfortunately, Solresol never really took off, although some devoted fans remain today.
Most people associate college or university with the pursuit of certain standards of academics and the attainment of prestigious degrees that aid their owners in getting special jobs or careers that they will love for a lifetime and have pretty decent starting salaries in comparison to someone who just finishes high school or secondary school but goes no further. However, with the growth in random areas of expertise and incredible amounts of detailed specialization in already established subject matter, several institutions of higher education have had to spread the base curriculum in order to allow their students to compete in a world of new areas of study and unique fields of interest. Even though they may not openly promote or publish these very different majors of study in their colleges or universities, degrees are still there for the taking for people who look closely enough. Do you think that higher education is limited to normal things like English, physics, or psychology? Perhaps it’s time to think again and take a look into all the new and weird offerings of college and university institutions.
Any firearm is capable of causing an accident regardless of the type of guns. Many recorded incidents had caused various injuries; rifles and bolt action guns primarily caused injuries to the face and hands of the handlers whereas revolvers and most guns cause injuries to the hands of the handlers.
The causes of these accidents vary, either because of manufacturing defect (which is rather unusual, though not impossible in modern times), to improper handling, blockage of the barrel or inappropriate use of ammunition (which is now on the increase)
Another factor to consider is the “reload”. If the amount of powder is exceeded it could very easily lead to the barrel burst, while the amount below the limit would not provide enough power to push the projectile out of the barrel, leaving it stuck inside which would cause an accident when the second shot is made
On these images are shown the door-stops for all occasions. As you see many of them are very funny. You can also use your imagination and your creativity to design a “holder for doors” to prevent the door shutting in front of your face! If you have, why not share with us...

Even if you are the most experienced user, remember that safety should always come first folks. Accidents happen very quickly and often have very bad results, results which may have been prevented in the first place. If you're not 100% sure of what you're doing, best get advice first. Don't take things for granted and never experiment unless you are sure of what you are doing – your life may depend on it!
It’s not often that you get to see what happens when a gun jams upon firing, and much less reported too. So everyone would start to think that a gun is a piece of perfect engineering with no chance of accidents. However when an accident do occur, everyone is going to take their time to identify the type of gun and try to figure out what happened, but how many of us are going to wonder about the pain that the shooter suffer? It's fortunate he did not lose his hand...
The phenomenon of demonic possession has persisted since the rise of modern Christianity. Sometimes passed off as mental or physical illness, the recognized traits of demonic possession include bizarre movements, changing voices, violent out bursts, speaking in tongues and others. When one is possessed by a demon it’s believed that the only way to remove the evil spirit is through the Catholic rites of exorcism. Below are four notable cases of demonic possession.
1. Anneliese Michel (1976)
Raised in a strict Catholic family, Anneliese was very devout in her faith. Her dedication went well above and beyond the norm; during winter time she slept on bare boards to make reparations for the sins of priests and drug addicts. So yeah, she was definitely on board with Catholicism. She also suffered from epileptic attacks starting when she was sixteen. It was almost as though God were punishing her despite her devotion.
